The Paseo Arts District, Oklahoma City
Serving as the architectural gateway into Oklahoma City’s historic Paseo Arts District, Frida Southwest is a 4,400-square-foot, ground-up restaurant that has become a defining landmark for the neighborhood. Modus Construction collaborated with Fitzsimmons Architects to deliver a building that embodies craftsmanship and creativity — from its weathered corten steel façade to its detailed interior finishes.
Built on a highly visible corner site, the project required careful coordination with city agencies and neighboring businesses to preserve the character of the district while introducing a modern, artful structure. The result has earned widespread recognition, including the 2019 ULI Impact Award for Boutique Development, and continues to anchor community activity at the district’s entrance.
