Historic Reconstruction & Expansion
The Paseo Arts District, Oklahoma City
Following a devastating fire in January 2021 that destroyed the original building, Modus Construction rebuilt Sauced on Paseo from the ground up, transforming a complete loss into an expanded and modernized neighborhood institution. The reconstruction project went beyond simple restoration, incorporating substantial upgrades including doubled oven capacity, expanded kitchen infrastructure, and the conversion of an existing annex building into indoor seating for approximately 42 guests. Working within the constraints of the historic Paseo District, Modus coordinated the complete structural rebuild while adding new outdoor amenities including patio space heaters for year-round dining and a performance stage for live music.
The project required careful attention to MEP systems, commercial kitchen equipment coordination, and exterior improvements that respect the artistic character of the district. The result demonstrates Modus' capability in complex reconstruction projects, bringing a beloved local establishment back to life with enhanced capacity and modern functionality while maintaining the warmth and community-focused atmosphere that made Sauced a Paseo District anchor.
